Trainee Legal Secretary

Bournemouth centre firm of solicitors, established 1876, require a trainee legal secretary to join their team.

Smart committed enthusiastic person. Working as a junior member of the administration department you will help provide a full range of professional office support services:

Full training and assistance will be given.

Duties

  • Handling incoming mail including scanning and distributing
  • Forwarding income e-mails and faxes
  • Assisting with printing the firm’s letters and legal documents including court bundles
  • Preparation of legal documents, including sewing Wills and binding documents
  • Photocopying and scanning of documents
  • Filing
  • Reception and associated tasks
  • 36.25 hours per week

Legal Secretary - Property

We are looking for a full time Property legal secretary with experience of working in a busy residential property and or commercial role.

The firm offers an opportunity to work within a friendly supportive team, excellent benefits including car parking.

Key requirements:

  • Legal secretarial expertise ideally gained supporting fee earners.
  • Experience of providing a polished secretarial service and administrative support to your allocated Fee Earner
  • Ability to prepare, edit and proofread all documents, either from dictation, general instruction or by personally drafting with fastidious attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Typing speed of 65wpm minimum.
  • Experience of managing and organising Outlook, inboxes, calendars and contacts, reviewing and forwarding internal and external mail, e-filing and all general maintenance of client files and folders.
  • Providing assistance to partners and fee earners during the absence of other secretaries in the team, as and when required.
  • Excellent communication skills together with emotional intelligence.

Private Client Solicitor

We are looking for a technically skilled Private Client lawyer with 3-5 years or more post qualification experience to join their Private Client Team. They offer a highly competitive remuneration/ benefits package bespoke to the requirements of applicants at any level.

The ideal candidate will be client focused, and have an ability to develop good client relationships. They will have experience of drafting complex Wills, technical Deeds, Estate and Trust Accounts and appropriate returns for CGT, I T and IHT, and must be prepared to continue to develop their technical skills and their working practices in collaboration with senior team members in order to achieve a consistently high standard of accuracy and service delivery.

Commercial and Residential Property Solicitor

We are looking for an experienced commercial and residential property solicitor, with 3 – 5 years PQE to handle a full spectrum of non-contentious property law matters, including all aspects of commercial property, development, residential property and landlord and tenant.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and driven individual who can assist in growing the team with the desire to be involved in business development for the firm. 

The position will also lend itself to the candidate expanding their practice area to learn aspects of company commercial law complementary to their property practice.

Corporate and Commercial Solicitor 

We are looking for an experienced corporate lawyer ideally with some commercial law experience as well, with 3 – 5 years PQE to handle a full spectrum of non-contentious corporate law matters, including M&A, joint ventures, shareholders’ agreements, articles of association, corporate transactions, partnership agreements, business reorganisation (often in the context of private client tax planning).

Litigation Solicitor 

We are  looking for an experienced Litigation solicitor, with 2 – 5 years PQE to handle a varied caseload of litigation matters under supervision.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and driven individual with a good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and claims within the County Court along with knowledge of High Court claims and cost budgeting.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge within one or more of the following areas:

  • Debt Recovery
  • Construction Litigation
  • Commercial Litigation
  • Contractual Disputes
  • Contentious Probate / Inheritance Act Claims

Trainee Solicitor

Preston Redman is a forward thinking law firm based in Bournemouth on the South Coast. The firm prides itself on traditional values with personal service providing high quality legal advice, attention to detail and exceptional client service.

We recruit one trainee solicitor each year in September and are currently recruiting for September 2023. Our two year programme is overseen by our training principal and is usually divided into four seats, across our various departments subject to your aspirations and the firm’s requirements, providing experience in both contentious and non-contentious work.
