Douglas is a fourth generation solicitor whose father and grandfather were both partners of Preston & Redman. He became a partner in 1977. He acts for a number of landed estates, which gives him a wide experience of property matters but, mainly, in the context of private client work.
His specialist areas of work include charity and other trust law, capital taxation planning, planning law development agreements and solar energy schemes. Douglas is a member of the Country Land Owners Association, the Council for the Protection of Rural England and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
