Zara joined the firm in June 2021 and predominantly specialises in Private and Public Law Children Act matters, alongside Helen Davies.
Zara qualified as a solicitor in 2012 and has a wealth of experience representing clients at all stages of their involvement with Children’s Services from the initiation of Child Protection through to Care Proceedings and Adoption. As Zara has also previously worked for a Local Authority, she has a detailed knowledge of Local Authority practices and procedures.
Zara also has experience of Divorce and Financial Remedy proceedings, as well as applications for Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders. Zara’s broad knowledge allows her to provide tailored and carefully considered advice on all aspects of a client’s case, often at a highly emotive and stressful time.
Zara has considerable experience working with those who have been victims of domestic abuse as well as those with additional health and learning needs.
During her time at a Local Authority, Zara delivered bespoke training to social workers in relation to working with parents with learning disabilities before, during and after Care Proceedings. Zara worked on and tailored this training following the Judgment of HHJ Dancey in A Local Authority v G (Parent with a Learning Disability) .
Zara regularly accepts instructions on more complicated matters including non-accidental injuries, sexual abuse, CSE, learning disability and mental health. Zara currently accepts instructions from parents and family members.
Zara accepts instructions from both Legally aided and privately funded clients.
